Can I use a discount code on gift cards, loyalty, tickets or Order & Pay?
Yes — a code that covers a product discounts only that product's line on your bill, never your plan or your other products, and it's entered when you buy or add the product. A new code replaces any discount already on that line, and you're asked to confirm before it does.
Yes, if the code covers that product. Each discount code is set up to apply to specific things — a plan, an add-on, a credit pack, a product, or several — and it only ever discounts what it names.
Where you enter it. When you're buying a product, type it into the Have a discount code? box in the purchase panel and click Apply — you'll see the discount reflected before you confirm. On Account → Plans & Products the same box appears whether you're buying your first product or adding one to an existing bill. The separate Have a code? box on Account → Billing is for your plan and add-ons.
It only discounts what it covers. If a code covers Gift Cards and you buy Gift Cards and Loyalty together, only the Gift Cards line is discounted — the rest stays at full price and the code will say so rather than quietly discounting nothing. This also works the other way round: a code meant for your plan can never spill onto your product lines.
Why a code might be refused. The message tells you which it is:
- "This code doesn't apply to products" — it's a plan, add-on or credit-pack code, and the message names what it is for.
- "This code applies to [something], which isn't in this purchase" — it covers a different product from the one you're buying.
- "This code is for annual billing only" (or monthly) — it's limited to one billing cadence.
- "This code is for new customers only" — see below.
- "This is a free-credit code" — a credit code is redeemed from Account → Billing, not at checkout.
- "That code isn't valid or has expired" — it's been typed wrongly, has run out of uses, or has passed its expiry date.
"New customers only" codes. These work on a first purchase — signing up for a plan, or buying products on their own without a plan. They can't be used to add a product to a bill you're already paying, because by then you're not a new customer. If you deleted an earlier ResoFlow account and signed up again with the same email, a new-customers code will be refused and will tell you exactly that: sign up with a different email address, or use a code that isn't limited to new customers.
If the product already has a discount. Only one discount can sit on a product's line at a time, so a new code replaces the one that's there — it doesn't add to it. When that would happen, the confirm panel shows you the discount you already have, the code you're applying, and what the line costs before and after, and asks you to confirm. Nothing changes until you do.
If a code covers the whole first invoice. Some codes (a free-period code, for example) bring your first payment to £0. There's nothing to pay that day — but we still ask for a card, because the price goes back to normal when the free period ends and there needs to be something to charge. The form says Nothing to pay today and your card isn't charged until then.
