What is the preferences page customers see for emails and texts?
Every marketing email and text links to a small preferences page where customers fine-tune or stop your marketing — no sign-in needed, on every plan.
Every marketing email you send carries an Email preferences link beside Unsubscribe in its footer, and every marketing text ends with a short Opt out link — both open the same small Email and text preferences page. It works on every plan (it's a legal-compliance surface, not a plan feature) and needs no sign-in: the link is personal to the customer, works for about 90 days from the email that carried it, and can be used more than once.
On the page the customer sees your restaurant's name and a few switches:
- Marketing emails and texts — the master switch. Unticking it stops all marketing from your venue, emails and texts alike.
- News and offers — offers, birthday treats and visit follow-ups, covering both the emails and the matching texts.
- Loyalty updates — monthly points and rewards round-ups (this row only appears while your loyalty scheme is live).
Nothing changes just by opening the link — a customer (or their email app scanning links) can't accidentally unsubscribe. Choices only apply when they press Save preferences, and a green "Preferences saved" banner confirms it. Booking confirmations, relevant reminders and receipts are unaffected by marketing preferences. Delivery still depends on the contact details and email or text service. Automated marketing messages waiting to be sent are checked against the latest preferences before delivery. A queued booking reminder is skipped if the booking was cancelled, moved or its reminder is no longer useful; this does not cancel the booking itself.
An expired or invalid link shows a friendly message pointing the customer at the same link in a newer email (or the unsubscribe link in any marketing email). Changes made here show on the customer's profile in your Customers list like any other consent change, and an unsubscribe made this way sticks — booking again never quietly re-subscribes them.
