How do I brief the team before service?
The Briefing page sums up a service in one line and a few short lists — big tables, VIPs, allergies, birthdays and occasions, money paid ahead, notes and Today's notes — on screen, on paper, or as a daily phone alert that never shows a name.
The Briefing page (/dashboard/briefing) is what the team needs to know before a service, on one screen. At the top is one line that sums it up — for example "Tonight: 42 covers · 3 allergies · 1 birthday" — and under it a few short lists:
- Big tables — bookings of six or more.
- VIPs — guests marked VIP on their customer profile.
- Allergies and dietary needs — whatever each booking says.
- Birthdays and occasions — a birthday on the guest's profile or an occasion on the booking.
- Paid ahead — bookings with a deposit or paid in full, and how much.
- Notes — the guest's notes and the team's notes on each booking.
- Today's notes (on Pro and Complete) — the team's notes for that day, the same ones as on Home: a note shows on its own day (or each day until its end date, or every day while it's pinned), not once someone has pressed Done on it that day, and never after it's removed. Briefing tomorrow shows Tomorrow's notes instead. See How do I leave notes for the team?.
- On the rota — with rotas (the Complete plan or the Team product): everyone on the published rota whose shift falls in the service, with their position and times.
When nothing is booked for the service yet, the page says so.
Choosing the day and the service
Pick Today or Tomorrow, then Lunch, Tonight or All day. Lunch is everything before 17:00 and Tonight everything from 17:00. The line at the top changes with your choice.
Printing it
Click Print for the same briefing on paper — the venue's name, the service and the one line at the top, then the same lists. The screen and the printout are built from the same figures, so they always agree.
As a phone alert
Switch on Send this as a phone alert and pick the time (06:00 to 22:45, in quarter hours — 16:00 is offered first). Each day at that time the one line goes out as an alert to the phones and tablets that have ResoFlow's alerts turned on — only the line, never a guest's name, because a locked phone shows it. Before 15:00 the alert covers lunch; from 15:00 it covers tonight. Switching it on or off, or changing the time, needs permission to edit the venue's operational settings.
Who sees it
Anyone who can view bookings can open the Briefing. The VIP and birthday marks come from customer profiles, so they only show for people allowed to view customers.
