How do I show my own adverts on my wall screens?
Make your own adverts for your TVs — a poster, a photo and a few words, or words on your own colour — each with a QR code to your booking page, menu, an event or your social pages, and its own days and times.
Your adverts is a wall screen of your own adverts — "Quiz night every Thursday", "Sunday roast £16.95", a poster you made in Canva — shown one at a time on a TV. Every venue with wall screens has it, at no extra charge: up to 10 adverts on Pro and 20 on Complete, and up to 3 at a venue on the Tickets, Order & Pay or Your website product.
Making an advert
Go to Settings → Venue → Wall screens, choose Your adverts from the list of screens, and click Add an advert. For each advert:
- How it looks — Picture (your own poster, filling the screen), Picture and words (a photo beside a headline and a line) or Words only (a headline and a line on your own brand colour — or a plain dark or light background if you haven't chosen a colour in Branding).
- The picture comes from your image library — upload a new one or choose one you already have. A poster works best in the shape of the TV: landscape (16:9) for most screens, portrait for an upright one.
- Headline — up to 40 characters, and A line under it — up to 90. On a poster, the headline is optional: it's what a screen reader says for it.
- QR code — what it opens — pick one with the buttons, or No QR code. The choices are your own pages — Book a table, Our menu, An event (then choose which one), Gift cards, Loyalty scheme and Our ResoFlow page — and the links you've already saved in Settings: Instagram, Facebook, Reviews, Tripadvisor, Google and Our own website. Reviews opens the review link you saved under "Where customers leave reviews" in Settings → Reviews — Google, Tripadvisor or somewhere else. You can't type an address into an advert, so a code on your TV can never lead anywhere you didn't choose. When your own domain is live, the codes for your pages use it automatically. A choice that isn't available is greyed with the reason — for example a link you haven't saved yet ("Add it in Settings first"). If a page stops being available later (an event has passed, or your menu is no longer on your public pages), that advert simply shows without its code.
- When it shows — Always, or Choose days and times: the days of the week, a time from and until, and a first and last day. Your day runs from 5am to 5am, so "until 1:00" on a Friday means the early hours of Saturday.
Each advert has its own switch, so you can turn one off without losing it, and the arrows move it up or down — adverts play in the order listed. Each advert shows for sets the seconds (5 to 60, 12 unless you change it). Click Save adverts when you're done, or Discard to put things back as they were.
A match night can put itself here too: switch on Show on our TVs on the match night, and once it's published the match shows as an advert with a QR code to its event page until the match ends — see match nights. Those adverts are made by the match night (you can't edit them here) and don't count towards your number.
Putting them on a TV
Show Your adverts like any other screen: Open on this device on its card on the Wall screens page, or a display link for a TV customers can see. On its own, the screen turns through the adverts that are on right now. When no advert is on, it shows Book with us instead (or, at a venue that doesn't take table bookings, your venue's name).
It can also be one of the screens a display link shows in turn, beside the menu board, specials, what's on and the others: each time its turn comes it shows the next advert — the room never sits through all of them in a row — and while no advert is on, its turn is skipped.
Drinks offers in Scotland
If your venue is in Scotland and an advert mentions a drinks offer, the editor shows a reminder: drinks offers must follow your licence's rules on drinks promotions — no happy hours, and no free or cheaper drinks with a purchase. ResoFlow never blocks or changes your words; you hold the licence, so the decision is yours.
Good to know
- Who can make adverts: anyone whose role can edit the wall screens' settings — owners, admins and managers by default, and any other role you give that permission.
- Each advert's picture is protected in your image library: you can't delete a picture an advert shows, and replacing it everywhere updates the advert too.
- Adverts are for your own venue only — there's no way to sell space on your screens to other businesses.
- Without wall screens on your plan you can still switch adverts off or remove them, but not add or change them.
