How do I advertise a quiz night or live music (What's on entries)?

Add simple What's on listings — a quiz night, live music, dog-friendly Mondays — with a date, a date range or a weekly repeat, shown alongside your ticketed events on your public pages, on every plan.

Not everything you run sells tickets. A quiz night, live music on Fridays, dog-friendly Mondays — What's on entries are simple listings for exactly those: no tickets, no capacity, no booking flow, just the details. They work on every plan — advertising something free never needs the ticketing feature.

Add an entry

Open Events in the dashboard sidebar — the What's on card is the one manager for these listings (if your plan doesn't include ticketed events, the page still opens and the card is right there). Click Add entry and fill in:

Leave Show on your pages switched on and save. You can keep up to 50 entries; switch one's Show on your pages off to take it off your pages without deleting it.

Where entries appear

On all four customer-facing What's on surfaces: the public What's on page, your venue hub, the What's on section of your website and the guest menu's What's on tab. It's one list, ordered by date — ticketed events carry a ticket marker (and their price) so the difference is obvious inline, and your custom entries sit alongside them as equals. (The two ticket-selling strips — the event page's cross-sell and the embeddable events strip — deliberately show ticketed events only.)

Nothing goes stale by itself

Dated entries drop off automatically once their date (or a range's Last day) has passed. A weekly entry always shows its next date — this Thursday's quiz, never last month's — and one with a Runs until date stops appearing after it. So a site can't end up advertising a quiz that finished in March.

Who can manage entries

Anyone who can edit the menu can add and edit What's on entries, and there's a separate Add and edit What's on entries permission (Settings → Roles & permissions) so you can hand the job to someone who shouldn't touch dishes or prices.

Selling tickets instead? That's a full ticketed event — see How do I create an event?.
