What happens after I sign up?
Your venue in a minute (hours, tables, booking rules and how long to keep guest details), the welcome card on Home, and Rezo’s tour.
Part of How do I sign up and set up my venue?. This part covers what comes straight after the sign-up screens: Your venue in a minute, the welcome card on Home, and the dashboard and Rezo's tour.
Your venue in a minute — hours, tables and booking rules
Venue sign-ups then see one page, Your venue in a minute, so you can take bookings from day one. It has three short parts — Opening hours, Tables and Booking rules — each filled in for you with a sensible start, shown as a one-line summary with Change to open it:
- Opening hours. Nothing is guessed: if you picked your venue from Google's suggestions on the step before, the hours on your Google listing are already in (marked From Google) — check each day with Change · add a break. Otherwise every day starts as not set yet and the part is open: tap Use typical hours (12:00–22:00) to fill them all, or choose Open, Open 24 hours or Closed for each day, then adjust the times (you can add a break for an afternoon close — more breaks, up to four a day, are added on the Hours page). Once Friday is set, Copy Friday to the weekend copies it to Saturday and Sunday. Your hours are saved only when every day has an answer and at least one day is open. Your day runs from 5am to 5am, so an opening time before 5am isn't accepted — the day explains why, and Open 24 hours is the answer if you never close.
- Tables. A rough count by size is proposed within your plan's table allowance (for example "13 tables · 54 seats") — Change to set the counts; they're laid out in a simple grid you can drag into your real layout later. …or photograph your floor plan reads your tables from a picture instead, on every plan — the tables go on your first floor plan, and on Free and Plus the picture is paid for from your 10 welcome Rezo credits (it uses 2).
- Booking rules — sensible defaults: Largest party bookable online (6 to start), How long does a booking last? (90 minutes) and How far ahead can guests book? (30 days to start — up to 30 on Free, up to a year on any paid plan). On plans that include them you also set the Cancellation deadline (how late guests can cancel or change their booking online — right up to the booking to start with) and whether to Confirm bookings automatically (on to start with). Your terms and privacy wording is ready to use — it's in Settings → Guest policies.
Under the three parts, Your guests, your data asks How long should we keep a guest’s details after their last visit? — 6, 12, 18, 24, 36 or 48 months, with 24 already picked. If your plan or products include the Team area (ResoFlow Team, or Complete), it also asks how long to keep a staff member's details after they leave — 6, 7, 8 or 10 years, with 6 picked (pay and hours records must be kept 6 years). You can change both any time in Settings → Guest policies → Privacy.
Press Finish set-up when you're happy — that saves all three parts and your data choices. Skip for now — set these on Your set-up saves nothing: the three wait on Your set-up in your dashboard (and the standard 24 months and 6 years apply). Product-only sign-ups, and sign-ups using a setup code (the code brings your set-up with it), skip this page entirely.
Welcome to ResoFlow — on Home
There's no separate welcome screen: when you finish, Home opens, and its first card welcomes you and says how far you've got by the same count as Your set-up (for example "4 of 7 done — next: Opening hours.", or, with only Go live left, "Everything needed is done — press Go live on Your set-up when you’re ready."). A part you skipped stays open on that list and waits for you on Your set-up. With a setup code, you first review the set-up we prepared with you, then go to Home.
On that first card, How did you hear about us? needs an answer before Start set-up — it helps us know what's working (pick Other and a box asks where). Which booking system did you use before? is optional: pick the one you're leaving (OpenTable, ResDiary, SevenRooms, DesignMyNight, Tablein, Collins, TheFork or Quandoo), a phone or paper diary, or none if you're a new venue. Pick a system and Open the switching kit takes you to the import screen to bring your guest list across, with a link to our guide to switching from that system where we have one. Your answer is remembered: the Coming from another system? step on Your set-up becomes a "Moving from …" checklist for that system (see How do I import guests, bookings or staff from a CSV?). Either way you can have us do the whole move with you instead, on a 30-minute call — our venue set-up is free on every plan while ResoFlow is new, and does the import with you on a paid plan or product. If you left the product-updates box empty on the first screen, the card asks once more — Yes, send me them for emails about new features, tips, member offers and discounts, and product launches, or No thanks; either way you can change it later in your account settings.
After the wizard: going live
The dashboard opens straight onto a working Home — nothing is blocked. The first time you open it, Home's small welcome card offers Rezo's tour — Show me around — rather than starting it for you: a short tour, about a minute, built for what you bought — he stands beside each part of your dashboard and points at it (Home, Bookings or your product's page, Your set-up, where to ask him, and Settings), with Skip tour on every stop. Its last button, Start set-up, opens your first set-up step; until you open a set-up step, Home keeps that welcome card with Start set-up and Show me around (Show me around again once you've had it) — every account gets it, ResoFlow Team on its own too. Its line counts your set-up the same way the sidebar and Your set-up do (for example "2 of 7 done — next: Your venue."); with ResoFlow Team on its own it adds "Team works from today." Anyone who joins your venue later can take the tour from Help and support → Show me around, showing only the pages they can open. The first time you open Bookings, the timeline, the floor plan, Guests or Settings, a one-line tip says what that page is for (on a phone it sits at the top of the page, so it never covers it); Got it puts it away for good. It waits until any welcome window — Rezo's tour, or the question about staying signed in on this device — has closed, so only one shows at a time. Pages that teach a feature — Gift cards, Promotions, Payments, Extras, Pre-orders and a few settings pages — carry one line under the page title, How this works, that opens a short explanation when you want it.
