Getting started with Gift cards
A venue that runs Gift cards on its own — the short set-up list, going live, and the four ways customers reach your gift card page (the link, the QR code, your own website and your venue page).
Gift cards runs on its own — no venue plan needed — or alongside any plan. A venue that signs up for Gift cards on its own gets a short set-up list with no table, floor-plan or booking steps.
Your set-up
Your set-up lists what's needed before you sell:
- Confirm venue info — what customers see on your pages.
- Set policies — your terms for customers.
- Connect Stripe to take payments — gift card money goes straight to your own Stripe account; until it's connected your gift card page stays closed.
- Set up your gift cards — the amounts you sell, how long cards last and how they look.
- Turn on online gift card sales — the Sell gift cards online switch in Settings → Gift cards.
Then press Go live. Until you do, your pages show customers "Opening soon".
Where customers find your gift cards
The Your gift page card sits near the top of the Gift cards page (under the Set up gift cards card while your set-up is unfinished), with four ways to share the page:
- The link — tap it to copy it, then put it in your social bios and email footers.
- QR code — opens your gift card code on the QR codes page, ready to print for the counter or a poster.
- Add to your website — opens Website widgets on the Gift cards widget. Press Get the code in that widget's card and paste the one line into your own website, and a gift card button appears there.
- Your venue page — it shows a Gift cards card for you automatically.
After you go live
- Add your team on the Staff page, so they can sell cards at the venue and redeem them at the Scanner.
- Send a test gift card to yourself to see what customers get.
