What does Home show for today's service?
Today's figures, Needs attention (Needs you while you're open), Up next, the Waitlist, Orders now and Taken today cards, and Before service in the morning.
Part of How do I use the Home screen?. This part covers what Home shows for the day: the top of the page, today's figures, booking requests, Needs attention (Needs you while you're open), bank holidays and big days, stopping online bookings for tonight, Up next, the Waitlist, Orders now and Taken today cards, and Before service.
The top of the page
A greeting with today's date and a one-line summary of the day, plus New booking and its More (…) menu, where Customise lives (with the walk-in and waitlist buttons on a smaller screen). Whether you're open right now, and today's hours, show in the top bar's status pill on every page. The magnifying glass in the top bar opens the search — one box that finds bookings, guests, settings and guides from any dashboard page, and does things too (see How do I search or do anything from the dashboard?); Ctrl+K (or ⌘K on a Mac) opens it from the keyboard.
Today's stat strip
One flat strip of figures:
- Covers today — every guest expected today.
- Bookings — advance bookings (clicks through to the Bookings list).
- Event — ticket holders, shown only on a day with an event.
- Walk-ins — shown when walk-ins are switched on. It counts how a booking was created, not anything marked during service. See Running ResoFlow as a booking diary.
- Seated or Arrived — how many parties are in, out of those expected. Which one you see follows how you track visits (Settings → Bookings → During service → How your team tracks a service): tracking the whole visit shows Seated; marking arrivals shows Arrived; and with Just take bookings the cell doesn't appear at all — a count of something nobody records would be a made-up number rather than an empty one.
- On waitlist — shown only when the waitlist is running. The waitlist comes with Complete, and also needs Turn on the waitlist switched on in Settings → Bookings → How people book.
While you're open, the strip gives way to one line under the greeting that says the same things in words — for example "16 bookings tonight · 53 guests · 6 tables seated · 3 on the waitlist · 5 need you". Walk-ins and an event join the line on a day that has them. The bookings, walk-ins and waitlist figures open the Bookings list at their tab. "Tables seated" counts the tables with a party at them right now, and appears only if you track the whole visit; if you mark arrivals it says how many have arrived instead.
Booking requests to approve
Every booking waiting for your approval — on any date, whatever made it wait (your own switch, a special date that approves every booking, or a bigger party's request) — shows once on Home, for anyone whose role can see bookings. A request for today is a row in the card that needs a decision — Needs you while you're open, Before service before you open, Needs attention when you're closed — labelled "Awaiting approval", with Approve and Decline (or Review). Requests for later dates are one line under Coming up, "2 requests waiting", and Requests → opens the Bookings list on its Requests tab, where each has Approve and Decline. On the All venues Home, a card lists each venue with requests waiting, and its Review opens that venue's Requests tab.
Needs attention
Lists today's bookings that need a decision, each tagged with the reason: Awaiting approval (online bookings waiting for your confirmation), Running late, Unassigned (no table yet), Deposit pending, plus seating warnings. Each row offers a one-click action — Approve in pink, or a quiet Seat / Clear — and View all opens the full list. On a day with no service still to come, the quick check of your booking page (see Before service below) leads this list instead. When there's nothing to do it says Nothing needs you right now.
While you're open, the card becomes Needs you: one row per booking, in this order, each with the same actions the booking itself has.
- Unread messages from guests come first (Pro and Complete — and on every plan, your website's contact form messages, with Your website — for anyone whose role can view bookings): "3 unread messages" with the newest guests and their last line — tap a name to open that conversation — and Read opens Messages. It's the same count as the Messages menu, and it goes as soon as someone on your team opens them.
- A guest past your lateness threshold: Seat (or Find a table if they have none) and No-show. Where your venue marks guests as arrived but doesn't record seating (Mark guests as arrived in How your team runs a service), the first button is Mark arrived instead of Seat. If they saved a card for a no-show fee, the row says so, and the no-show confirm offers to charge it — that part asks for your password or a manager's PIN.
- A booking without a table: Find a table opens the booking so you can pick one.
- A table running over its booked time: Extend adds 15 minutes (if that would run past closing, it says so and you extend from the booking itself) and Cleared frees the table for the next booking.
- A booking awaiting approval: Approve, or Decline, which opens the booking to decline it with a note.
- A deposit not paid yet or a seating warning: Open.
Each button shows only if your role allows that action. When nothing is left the card says Nothing needs you right now. View all opens the Bookings list on its Needs you tab — the same rows, with the same actions.
On a computer wide enough for two columns, a long list scrolls inside the card, which stops at the height of your screen (a soft fade at the bottom shows there's more) — the same for Needs you, Before service and Needs attention. On a phone or tablet the whole list shows on the page: it never folds behind Show all, so a late guest is always in view.
Under today's rows, Coming up lists what needs a person in the next 14 days — on Home all the time, under Needs you while you're open, under Before service, and under Needs attention when you're closed. Each thing appears 14 days before its own deadline and stays while it's overdue, soonest deadline first, with the booking's date and one button:
- A card that was declined — a deposit taken when you approved the booking ("Deposit due"), a no-show fee or a late-cancellation fee. It's due now, so it shows straight away, whatever the booking's date (no-show fees from the last 14 days too). Retry tries the card once more — your password or a manager's PIN, for people allowed to refund — and the row then says Declined again if it didn't go through, and Link sent while the guest has a payment link. After that, or for someone who can't retry it, Retry (or Chase for a deposit) emails their open payment link again, or opens the booking so you can send one.
- A deposit, balance or payment still owed, 14 days before it's due (a deposit with no due date: 14 days before the booking), and while it's overdue: Chase emails the guest their open payment link again, or opens the booking so you can send one.
- A booking with no table, 14 days before the booking: Find a table opens it at its table. It lists every booking without one if ResoFlow seats your online bookings, and always a party bigger than your "don't auto-assign over" size.
- A party's pre-order not finished, 14 days before it closes: Send reminder emails the pre-order request again (for guests choosing by link it opens the booking, where their own reminders are).
The heading has its own count; the first five show and Show all shows the rest. Requests aren't repeated: "2 requests waiting" with Requests → opens the Bookings list's Requests tab. The buttons need permission to edit bookings (trying a card again needs permission to refund) — without it the rows still show and still open the booking. The count on the card and in the menu stays today's.
Bank holidays and big days, before they arrive
Six weeks ahead, Coming up asks about each bank holiday that isn't on your list yet — "Boxing Day · Sat 26 Dec — are you open as normal?" with Open as normal (the same as Ignore on the Special dates page), Closed and Different hours… — and about the five big days that aren't bank holidays: Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, 24 December and New Year's Eve, with Same as normal, Set it up… and, when you had a special date for that day last year, Use last year's rules. Closed, Different hours…, Set it up… and Use last year's rules open the Special dates window (Settings → Special dates) on that day, filled in — nothing is saved until you save it there. Only people who can change special dates see these rows.
Close your booking page for tonight in three taps
Mid-service, on Home or the Timeline, open the ⋯ menu and pick Stop online bookings, then For an hour, Until close or All of tomorrow (with an optional Reason guests see). Your booking page, website form and waitlist join page close for that time; your team can still book, seat walk-ins and add to the waitlist. "Online bookings stopped until 23:00" with Reopen shows on Home and the Timeline until it ends. It is saved as a special date named "Online bookings stopped", so it shows on Settings → Special dates too; on a day that already has a special date, change that date instead. It needs permission to change special dates. On a phone, Stop online bookings is in the bar's Add too.
Up next
The next arrivals booked for today, in time order, with a Seat button on each row. When the day's done it shows Nothing coming up.
While you're open, the card becomes The next 90 minutes. A bar for each quarter of an hour shows how many guests are due, and the bookings arriving in those 90 minutes are listed under it. A guest who is past your lateness threshold waits in Needs attention instead. Open the Timeline jumps to the Timeline. If nobody is due in the next 90 minutes, the card says Nothing in the next 90 minutes and gives the time of the next arrival — or No more arrivals in the next 90 minutes when the bars still show guests booked in those minutes but every one of them is already in.
Under the title the card says how many bookings it lists ("12 bookings to arrive" — one per booking, however many guests; the bars count the guests). A busy night never pushes Home down: on a computer wide enough for two columns the list scrolls inside the card, which stops at the height of the cards beside it or of your screen, whichever is taller (a soft fade at the bottom shows there's more); on a phone or tablet, and in the staff app, the first five show and Show all shows the rest.
If you use pacing rules (Settings → Bookings → How many at once), the bars show where you stand against them:
- A quarter turns amber when it's at a limit — the next online booking there would be refused.
- It turns red when it's already over one.
- A line under the bars names the first such time and the limit. Online guests are offered other times.
- When Most guests arriving every 15 minutes is set, a dashed line marks it across the bars. On a special date with its own limit, the line shows that day's limit.
Clicking any booking row opens the booking in the right-side overlay, with its status actions pinned at the top (on a phone, at the bottom of the screen); from there you can make quick changes or jump to the full editor.
Waitlist
While you're open — and at any other time someone is still waiting — the Waitlist card shows how many parties are waiting, the longest wait so far, and when the next table someone is lined up for should come free (or how many tables are ready for people who've been told). The figures are the same as the Waitlist view's. Open takes you to the Waitlist view. The card is there only when the waitlist is running.
Orders now
While you're open, at a venue that takes orders — Order & Pay on your plan, with ordering at the table, collection or delivery switched on — the Orders now card shows the open orders for each way of ordering: At the table, Collection and Delivery. Each gives how many orders are open and one note: how many are new and not yet seen, when the next collection is due, or how many deliveries are on their way. The figures are the Orders screen's own. Click a way of ordering, or Open Orders, to open the Orders screen. A way of ordering you've switched off shows only while it still has open orders, and the card stays while any order is open — even if Order & Pay has since left your plan. When nothing is waiting it says No open orders right now.
Taken today
While you're open, people whose role can see Payments get the Taken today card: the money that has come in today so far, and what it came from — orders, deposits, gift cards sold, event tickets and so on. The figures are the same as your daily takings email will show for the day. Your venue's day runs from 5am to 5am, so at half past midnight after a late service the card is still showing that night's takings. Anything refunded today is shown under the total with what's left, tips are shown on their own line (they aren't part of your sales), and gift card balance spent today is shown but never counted as new money — it came in on the day the card was sold. The card says when the figures were read; they refresh each time you open Home, when you come back to it, and soon after an order comes in or a deposit is paid on one of today's or tomorrow's bookings — at most every two minutes, never while Home is out of sight. On an exceptionally busy day it may say "at least", and Payments lists every payment. Payments and daily takings opens the Payments page. On a venue that only sells Order & Pay, the Today's orders card shows the orders' part of the same figures.
Before service
In the morning before you open — and in the break between two services — Home gets you ready for the service ahead:
- The line under the greeting gives today's bookings, the guests, and how many things there are to sort — for example "16 bookings today · 12 guests before the break · 53 after · 5 things before service". Without a break it gives one guest figure. The bookings figure opens the Bookings list.
- Before service takes the place of Needs attention and lists what to sort before you open, in this order: unread messages from guests (as in Needs you — Read opens Messages), bookings awaiting your approval today and tomorrow, whatever made them wait (Review opens the Bookings list's Requests tab, with every request on any date), a booking whose deposit or payment hasn't come in yet (Open opens the booking), a pre-order still to do — asked for with nothing chosen yet, no pre-order after the reminder has gone, or fewer guests have chosen than are coming (Check opens Pre-orders), reviews waiting for your reply — "2 reviews need a reply" with their stars, for people who can manage reviews while reviews are switched on (Reply opens Reviews showing the ones that need a reply) — a dish still marked sold out from an earlier day ("Scallops · Marked sold out last night"), for people who can edit the menu (Back on puts it back on your menu, just like its Available switch on the Menu page; a dish marked sold out today isn't listed) — bookings without a table (Assign tables), and anything else Needs attention would have listed. When there's nothing, it says Nothing needs you before service. For an owner or admin whose venue was already live when ResoFlow's new dashboard arrived, a quick check of the booking page comes first, once — each thing to look at is a row ("Add a table guests can book online", "You’re closed every day") with its own button and Not now; the same check sits on Your set-up, and once every row is done or put aside it doesn't come back. Briefing, at the top of the card, opens the pre-service briefing — the day's big tables, allergies, birthdays and notes on one screen, ready to print.
- Tonight at a glance takes the place of Up next: a bar for each quarter of an hour across the busiest 90 minutes still ahead — starting just before the first time that's over one of your pacing limits (or at one), otherwise the 90 minutes with the most guests arriving — with the same colours, dashed line and sentence as The next 90 minutes. When those 90 minutes are before 5pm it says Today at a glance.
- Yesterday sits beside today's cards: yesterday's guests, no-shows and walk-ins. How it counts the guests follows How your team tracks a service on Settings → Bookings → During service: with Track the whole visit, the guests who were seated; with Mark guests as arrived, the guests marked as arrived; with Just take bookings, everyone booked in — and then no-shows aren't shown, because nobody marks arrivals. Walk-ins are included; event tickets aren't (they're counted on the event). Reports opens your reports, for people who can see Payments.
As while you're open, the figure strip isn't shown. After your last service Home is back to the cards described above.
