Keyboard shortcuts
The single keys for a busy service — N for a new booking, W for a walk-in, T for today, the arrows for the day before and after, 1 2 3 for the views — the ? list, and how to turn them off.
Keyboard shortcuts
On a desktop, or an iPad with a keyboard, a few single keys do the busiest jobs of a service without reaching for the mouse. Press ? on any page to see the list.
On the bookings pages (Timeline, Floor plan and List):
Key What it does N New booking, on the day you're looking at W Seat a walk-in T Back to today ← → The day before, the day after 1 2 3 Timeline, Floor plan, List
Everywhere:
Key What it does / Find a booking or a guest (opens the search) ⌘K or Ctrl+K Search everything (see What can I type into the search?) [ Show icons only — folds the menu Esc Close what's open ? The list of shortcuts
A key presses the page's own button, so it does exactly what the button does — N opens New booking on the day on screen, and W says why when walk-ins are closed. The arrows move the day only when nothing else is selected: a booking you've selected on the Timeline, or the rota grid, keeps its own arrow keys.
When they don't work
- While you're typing in a box — a search, a note, a guest's name. That's on purpose: typing an "n" never opens a new booking.
- While a window is open — a booking, a confirm box or the search. Close it first (Esc).
- On a phone or a tablet without a keyboard — there are no keys to press.
- If they're switched off (below).
Turning them off
Each person chooses for themselves. Switch Use keyboard shortcuts off in Your account → Preferences, or use the switch at the bottom of the ? list. Off means no single key does anything — [ for the menu included — which suits anyone who uses a screen reader or voice control. ⌘K / Ctrl+K and Esc keep working. The choice is saved to your account, so it follows you to every device you sign in on.
