Can Rezo change my settings for me?
Rezo offers almost any setting as a card for you to save — the never-list, what it can set, several cards at once and a whole special date.
Part of How can Rezo help, and what can't it do?. This part covers the changes Rezo can offer: cards you save yourself, what it never changes, the settings it can set, several changes at once and big jobs like a whole special date.
Can Rezo change my settings for me?
It never changes anything by itself: for almost any setting it offers the change as a card for you to save (with Undo for 30 minutes) — and only a change your role could make by hand. Saving the card is the same save the setting's own screen makes, made by you: the same permissions, the same plan, the same checks. The change is marked "suggested by Rezo" in your Activity log, with your name as the person who made it.
A change protected by your password — like a shorter staff PIN, a longer sign-out time or keeping the service screens signed in — says so on the card, and Save this? opens the same Confirm it’s you box the page opens. Nothing changes until you confirm; press Cancel and nothing is saved. Rezo never puts a manager PIN step or anything that deletes on a card.
Rezo never changes, whatever is asked: billing, the plan, credits and add-ons; deleting anything — tables, loyalty schemes, data or the venue; connecting or disconnecting Stripe, and your own domain; staff, roles, PINs and paired devices; guest data exports and erasure; sending any email, text or campaign; and the wording of your guest policies. Ask for one of those and it says why in one line, with a link that opens the exact setting.
The settings pages whose changes Rezo can offer — among them Hours, Special dates, Waitlist, Walk-ins, Branding, Security policy and the Team area's Rota — say so under the page's title: "Rezo can change this for you." Press Ask Rezo beside it to open the chat and say what you'd like changed.
The changes Rezo can offer, and big jobs
The cards it can offer, to someone whose role can make the change by hand: any one setting on the settings pages — a switch or a number, named exactly as the page names it (ask "turn holiday tracking off" and the card is Track holiday allowance on the Rota settings, from on to off); and, for jobs that touch several things at once, one day of your weekly opening hours, a special date that's closed or has different hours, how long a booking lasts, the largest party online, how far ahead guests can book, the notice a booking needs, how late guests can cancel online, whether online bookings wait for your approval, your venue's phone, address and cuisine, new tables, a special date's payment — a deposit, pay in full or a card to hold on that one date only — and your everyday payment rules on What guests pay: Require deposits, Require full payment or Enable no-show protection switched on or off, the amount, per person or per booking, and the smallest party it applies to. Ask "turn on deposits for parties of 8" and the card is Require deposits, from off to on for parties of 8 or more, at the amount already set — if no amount is set, Rezo asks how much first. Change just the amount ("make the deposit £15 a head") while deposits are off and you get the amount card, Rezo tells you deposits are off at the moment, and a second card switches them on too if you want that. The card says when turning a rule on adds a clause to the terms your guests agree to, just as the page does. Taking money needs Stripe connected (a deposit can also be paid at your venue when that's switched on), and each kind needs a plan that includes it: deposits and a card to hold on Plus and above, pay in full on Pro and Complete — switching one off works on every plan. Amounts set by party-size tiers, and the days and times a rule applies, stay on the page.
The card is always the setting you asked about — never a different setting that happens to take the same number. If what you asked for isn't one Rezo can set out, it says so in one line and links the exact setting — your brand colour and logo, for example, are set on Branding, and your venue name is changed by the ResoFlow support team (Rezo tells you how to ask them).
Every card says which venue it changes ("At …"). If you look after more than one venue and ask from All venues (or your account pages), Rezo asks which venue first — or name it in your message ("turn on deposits at The Bistro").
Ask for several changes at once ("make bookings 2 hours and let people book 60 days ahead") and Rezo sets out a card for each, one under the other — each has its own Save this? and Not now, so you can save one and leave another.
When you ask for a whole special date at once — say Christmas Eve open 12 to 4, no online bookings, parties up to 8 and £10 a head to book — Rezo doesn't stack up cards. It says "I've set up that special date — open it to check each step and confirm" with an Open the special date button. That opens Special dates' step-by-step New special date already filled in with what Rezo can fill — the hours (or closed), no online bookings, party sizes, how long a booking lasts, notice, approval, a deposit, pay in full or a card to hold, and a note: walk through each step, change anything, and press Save date there. Anything else you asked for — when the date opens for booking (Christmas Day open to book now, say), its online booking times, rooms, limits, how late guests can cancel, refund rules or pre-orders — you choose yourself on its step (Who can book online?, How many?, Money or Pre-orders), and Rezo says so. Anything your plan doesn't include on a special date (or a payment while Stripe isn't connected) is left out, and Rezo tells you so. Nothing is saved until you press Save, and the save is marked "suggested by Rezo" in your Activity log, like a card's. Just one thing on one date — a day you're closed, or a deposit on one night — comes as that date's card instead.
