How do I sign up, step by step?
The sign-up screens one by one — your account and the email code, you and your venue, choosing what you need and your plan, paying (or not yet), and a wrong email.
Part of How do I sign up and set up my venue?. This part covers the sign-up screens: your account and the email code, you and your venue, choosing what you need and your plan, paying or not yet, and a wrong email or a sign-up left part-way.
A row of steps across the top of the sign-up card shows where you are, with a progress bar under it — Your account, Your venue, Your plan, then Opening hours, Tables and Booking rules for a venue (the step Your set-up calls Policies — your cancellation, terms and privacy wording), and Go live last — ticking each one off as you go. It's the same short list Your set-up and Home's set-up bar show, so the count (for example "6 of 7 done") is the same everywhere; Go live is pressed on Your set-up. If you chose products rather than a plan, the third step is Your products; a website on its own ends with Publish your website (you publish in the website editor), and ResoFlow Team on its own has no Go live at all. On a wide screen, your guests' booking page builds itself beside the form as you answer (your venue's name, and the days you're open once you've told us); guests can't see it until you press Go live.
- Create your account. The page says up front that Free needs no card. Use Continue with Google (one tap — a Google account is already verified, so you skip the email-check step), or enter an email address and a password (at least 8 characters, with letters and numbers — a strength bar under the box tells you when it's good) and click Create account. Either way, tick the one box above the Google button first — it agrees to the Terms and Privacy Policy and confirms your business operates in the UK; the product-updates box under it is optional. Forget the tick and the page tells you so, right beside it. Got a code? Have a code? takes a setup code, a referral code or a promo code and tells you which kind it recognised.
- The email code — on the same card. Once your account is made, the card says so ("Account made") and the code box opens under it — no new page. We send a verification link and a 6-digit code — the code is in the email's subject line (for example "931604 is your ResoFlow code"), so it shows in your phone's notification and newer phones offer it above the keyboard. Type it in the box and press Verify and carry on, or click the link in the email (handy when the email is open on another device). With a Gmail, Outlook or Hotmail, or iCloud address there's a button to open your mail in a new tab. The link opens a ResoFlow page that says "Your email is verified" — press Carry on setting up to go back to where you were (opened on another device? the sign-up tab moves on by itself). The email comes from [email protected], so check spam if it hasn't arrived; you can also click Didn't get it? Resend, and if you mistyped your address, Change email address re-points your account and sends a fresh email — no starting over.
Signing up — you, your venue and your plan
- You & your venue. One screen: your First name, Last name and your Mobile number — a UK mobile is needed to sign up (these stay private — only ResoFlow uses them; guests never see them). We confirm the mobile is yours, just like your email, to keep your account secure: press Text me a code, type the 6-digit code from the text and press Confirm (the code works for 10 minutes; Resend code sends a fresh one). The text ends with a line like "@resoflow.co.uk #482170" — that's what lets your phone offer the code above the keyboard on our sign-up page. You can't carry on until it's confirmed. We can only text UK mobiles (they start 07). If you don't have one, or a text won't come through (press Try again first), use Contact us or ask Rezo — it opens our contact page in a new tab — or email [email protected], and we'll help you sign up. Then your Business name, What kind of business are you? (an events venue taking table bookings picks Restaurant, café, pub or bar; from the any-business page it starts on Something else) and your Address, with Venue phone (shown on your booking page so guests can call), Venue email (this is where guest replies go: when a guest replies to one of your booking emails, it comes here — it starts as your sign-up email, and you can change it; leave it empty and guests can't reply to your booking emails) and Website — all three optional. The screen is in two parts: About you (only ResoFlow sees it) and Your venue (what guests see). Pick your address from Google's suggestions and, if your venue has a Google listing, its phone number and website fill those two boxes when they're empty — change or clear them if they're not right — and its opening hours are kept for the hours step (one look-up, never two). As you type the business name, the wizard shows your venue's web address (like resoflow.co.uk/venue/the-bistro) — your free venue page, which your booking, gift card and menu links hang off. Check it looks right before you press Continue, because that's the address your venue starts with. The owner can still change it later on Settings → Venue profile → Web address: freely until the venue goes live, and after that only in the first 14 days while the venue has no bookings — otherwise get in touch and we'll change it with you. A change moves every page and link to the new address, the old one forwards to it for good, and everyone signed in to the venue is signed out once while it moves. To choose the address yourself (for example, if it's already in use by another venue), click Change the address (lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens), or tweak the name. Press Continue with something needed still empty and the page says what, beside each box.
- Choose what you need. Pick The full package — run your venue on ResoFlow (bookings, tables, floor plans, guest pages and the rest, with your plan chosen on the same screen), or Products — for any business (gift cards, event tickets, loyalty, a website, Order & Pay or Team — the staff rota — on their own, with no venue package). With the full package you can also Add products (optional) under the plans — if your plan already includes one, it's taken off your bill automatically. Your website is free to build: choosing it at sign-up costs nothing today — its card says Free to build and what it will cost when you publish — and you pay for it only when you press Publish (see How do I publish my website and get found on Google?). The options you're offered depend on the business type you gave: the full package is for restaurants, cafés and bars today; other business types start with the products.
- Pick a plan. For the full package, all four plans are shown under Your plan — Free (free), Plus (£39/month), Pro (£79/month) and Complete (£129/month) — with a Monthly / Annual · save 2 months switch and a Promo code box. Any products you added are itemised with a total. Click Start free for Free (the button reads Continue to payment when you've added paid products alongside it), or Continue with [plan] for a paid plan. Paying moves you to Complete your subscription, a step of its own that shows exactly what you'll pay and takes your card there and then (payment is handled by Stripe — your card details never touch our servers); paid plans come with a 14-day money-back guarantee on your first paid period. For products only, Your products lists what you chose with the same Monthly / Annual · save 2 months switch and a Have a promo code? box — a promo code in the link you followed is applied for you, and shows as "Code … applied" before you pay. Your website shows as Free to build and is never part of the payment; if it's all you chose (or it and free Events), there's nothing to pay — Finish set-up takes you straight on. You can change your plan and products any time later.
Paying, or not yet
Chose Your website? It isn't paid for at sign-up. On Home, Start building your website (on the welcome card; on its own, the website card's Build your website) opens the website editor, where you build it free — nothing is public and nothing is paid until you press Publish website, which takes you to Plans and products to add it (£15 per month with any plan, Free included, or £19 per month on its own). A website draft that's never published is removed after 90 days without a sign-in.
On Complete your subscription, Pay and continue takes the payment. Not ready to pay? On a paid plan, Start on Free instead (under the card form) finishes your sign-up on the Free plan with no card — everything you've set up stays, and you can move to a paid plan from Account → Plan and usage whenever you like (products you added aren't part of Free; add them from the same page later). Need someone else's card? Close the page — your sign-up is saved, and signing in again brings you back to where you stopped. Questions first? Book a free 30-minute call opens our booking page in a new tab.
If your bank turns the card down, the reason shows right beside the card and stays until you try again — for example "Your bank said no: there isn't enough money on this card. Nothing has been charged." (or a wrong security code, an expired card, or your bank's security check not finished). The button becomes Try again — use a different card or check the details — with Start on Free instead beside it. The same reason shows when a card is turned down for an upgrade from your dashboard.
If you leave the card page without paying, we email you a few hours later — "Your ResoFlow sign-up for … is saved", with Finish signing up, Start on Free instead (for a plan) and a free call — and once more three days later if you still haven't finished. Then we stop. Both come from [email protected], and nothing has been charged.
Wrong email, or left part-way through sign-up
Signed up with the wrong email? Every step after your account is made shows "Signed in as" with your email at the top of the card — press Use a different email to sign out and start again from the first step with the right address (before then, Change email address on the verify step does it without starting over).
If you leave part-way through, just sign back in — the wizard resumes at the step you left. The plan, products, promo code or referral code you brought with you from our website are kept with your new account, so opening the verification link in a new tab (or carrying on on another device) never loses them.
