Start here: set up your venue in 7 steps

The seven steps from sign-up to taking bookings, in the order Your set-up shows them — what each one is for and where to find help.

Getting your venue ready for online bookings is seven short steps. Your set-up — in the sidebar, or Open Your set-up on Home — shows the same seven, ticks each one off as it's done and counts what's left (for example "3 of 7 done"). Home, the sidebar and our emails all use the same names and the same count.

The seven steps

• Your account — done when you sign up.
• Your venue — your venue's name and address, as guests see them. Check them and confirm. Change your venue's details
• Your plan — done when you choose a plan at sign-up.
• Opening hours — when guests can book you. Set your opening hours
• Tables — even one table that takes online bookings is enough to start; you can draw the rest of the room later. This step ticks itself as soon as you have a table. Add your tables
• Policies — the policies guests agree to when they book. They come with ready-to-use UK wording, so you can read them and keep them as they are. Your booking policies
• Go live — the button that opens your booking page to guests. It first checks that a guest can really book you and, if something's missing, names the one thing to fix. Until you press it, your pages say "Online booking opens soon" and nobody can book online.

If you skipped a step during sign-up, it waits on Your set-up — nothing is lost. Each step opens in its own screen on Your set-up, so you answer it right there.

Help on every step

Beside each step, Rezo says what it's for. Ask Rezo opens the chat, already knowing which step you're on (he can fill in your opening hours, your venue's details or your tables for you, and checks with "Save this?" first). Read the guide opens that step's guide in the Help Centre. Rezo also knows where you're up to, so you can ask him "what's left?" from anywhere.

If we're setting your venue up for you

If we're building your set-up for you, the steps we're doing say We're doing this for you on Your set-up — there's nothing for you to do until your setup code is ready. When it is, Enter setup code appears on Your set-up and on Home. Using a setup code

After Go live

Once you're live, Your set-up shows your booking link to share and a few optional packs — deposits, reminders, your team and more — each a few quick decisions. Nothing there is needed to take bookings.
