How do I switch from OpenTable to ResoFlow?
How OpenTable and ResoFlow compare, from OpenTable’s own pages — then export your guest list, import it and share your booking link.
OpenTable pairs a booking system with a diner marketplace and charges a cover fee for each seated diner its network sends you; ResoFlow charges no per-cover booking fees and publishes flat prices. Moving across takes three steps: get your data out, import it, and switch your booking links over.
OpenTable and ResoFlow side by side
Every OpenTable fact below is from OpenTable's own published pages, as ResoFlow's comparison page checked them on 12 October 2026. No price OpenTable doesn't publish is estimated. Published terms change, so always confirm current terms with OpenTable directly. ResoFlow is not affiliated with OpenTable. Where a rival says its prices exclude VAT, so do we show them; ResoFlow currently charges no VAT.
- Plan prices: Not published — “Contact us for pricing”
- Per-cover booking fees: On network bookings only — own-website, phone and walk-ins free
- Free plan: None advertised
- Contract: Standard contract one year, auto-renews annually
- Diner marketplace: Yes — OpenTable's website, app and affiliate network
- Getting started: Contact sales / book a demo
ResoFlow's side, from the same page: published plans — Free with no time limit, then Plus (£39/month), Pro (£79/month) and Complete (£129/month), with two months free if you pay annually; no per-cover booking fees and no commission on table bookings; monthly, with no annual contract; and you start self-serve — create your venue free, no demo call. When you first subscribe you get a 14-day money-back guarantee.
When OpenTable might suit you better
Four things OpenTable's own pages offer that ResoFlow does not — real, and for some venues the whole argument:
- You want diners who don't know you yet. OpenTable is part of Booking Holdings, and its core value is its marketplace — its website, app and affiliate network put your venue in front of diners searching for somewhere to eat. ResoFlow provides direct booking links and a separate venue directory, with no per-cover commission.
- You want Reserve with Google. OpenTable's plans list Google's ‘Reserve a table’ button, so its venues can take bookings straight from Google. ResoFlow doesn't offer that — instead it walks you through pointing your Google Business Profile's booking link at your ResoFlow page.
- You need it linked to your ordering and payment system. OpenTable's plans list links to ordering and payment systems and 100+ booking integrations. ResoFlow doesn't offer those integrations today — bookings, payments and reports live in ResoFlow itself.
- You want advertising inside the platform. OpenTable offers digital advertising and ad tracking to promote your venue to its diner network. ResoFlow has nothing equivalent — its marketing tools work your own guest list (email, SMS, offers and loyalty), not a marketplace audience.
Step 1 — Export your data from OpenTable
Your guest book is your data. Export your guest list and reservation history from OpenTable as CSV files — or ask their support team for an export if you can't find one in your reports. Check your contract's renewal date at the same time: the standard OpenTable contract auto-renews annually, with 30 days' notice before the renewal date to stop it.
Step 2 — Import it into ResoFlow
Imports run from the wizard at Settings → Data import — four steps: Upload, Mapping, Preview, Import. Customer imports come with Plus and above, and with every paid Gift Cards, Loyalty, Tickets or Order & Pay product; booking imports need a venue plan. Only Owners and Admins see the page.
- Pick a tile — Customers for your customer list, Bookings for your reservation history — then click the upload box (Click to upload your CSV file) and choose the file. Maximum 500 rows per file; if your export is larger, split it in a spreadsheet and run the wizard more than once.
- On the Mapping step, the wizard matches your CSV columns to ResoFlow fields wherever the column names are recognisable — check each one and map by hand any it missed, then click Preview data.
- Preview shows the first 10 rows. Fix anything flagged, then click Import N records.
A customer whose email already exists in your directory is merged, never duplicated. Your opening hours, tables and policies aren't part of a CSV — you set those up in ResoFlow directly (Your set-up, in the sidebar, walks you through it).
Step 3 — Share your new booking link
Your public booking page (it looks like …/book/your-venue) is live once your setup essentials are done. Put the link on your website, social profiles and Google Business Profile — the walkthroughs at Settings → Get more bookings cover Google, Apple Maps, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and WhatsApp — or embed the booking widget on your own site. You can run OpenTable alongside for a while to keep its marketplace diners during the transition, then decide with real numbers.
