How do I create and print QR codes for my venue?
One hub of printable QR codes — your venue page, bookings, menu, events, waitlist, gift cards, loyalty and tables — customisable with your logo, colours and frames, exported as PNG, SVG or print-ready PDF, plus a poster studio for designed A5/A4/A3 posters.
Settings → Public booking → QR codes is one hub of every printable code your plan and products unlock. Every venue sees the page — each code appears as a tile with an honest status: Ready (download away), Needs switching on (the tile names the exact setting), or a plan/product lock. A code is always free with the feature it points at — nobody pays extra for the code itself.
The tiles are grouped:
Your venue — one code per destination
- Venue page — your whole venue on one page (bookings, menu, events, gift cards). Every plan.
- Booking page — customers scan to book a table. Scans are tagged, so their bookings show as "QR code" in Analytics → Booking sources. Available on Plus plan and above.
- Menu — your live menu, a see-our-menu code for windows and posters. Available on Pro plan and above, or with the Order & Pay product.
- What's on — every upcoming event and ticket on one page. Available on Pro plan and above, or with a Tickets product.
- Waitlist — customers scan at the door to join the queue from their phone. Available on Complete plan. It also needs your waitlist switched on — until "Enable Self-Service Waitlist" is on in Bookings → Waitlist, the tile says so and customers scanning an old code would see "Waitlist is Closed".
- Gift cards — customers scan to buy a gift card. Available on Pro plan and above, or with the Gift Cards product.
- Loyalty scheme — customers scan and land straight on your loyalty join card, welcome bonus and all. Available on Pro plan and above, or with the Loyalty product.
- Customer account — customers scan to see their bookings, tickets and loyalty card. Every plan.
- Order & Pay (anywhere) — one code for the bar, menus or posters; customers scan, tell us their table, then order and pay. It appears once Order & Pay and Flexible table entry are both on in Settings → Order & Pay.
Your tables — one code per table
A code for every table on your floor plan. Customers scan to see your live menu for that table — and with Order & Pay on, the same codes take orders (codes you've already printed keep working; only reprint if you want the new wording). Customise all & print applies one design to every table and downloads the lot — PNG or SVG codes come as a zip, and the PDF is one document with a page per table. Available on Pro plan and above, or with the Order & Pay product.
Deleting a table stops its printed code working — the floor plan warns you before any table is deleted.
Pick-an-item codes
- Event posters — pick an upcoming event and print a poster code for its page, where customers see details and buy tickets. The code stops working if the event is deleted.
- Shareable menu codes — pick one of your shareable menus (built on the Menu page) and print its code — perfect for a festive or set menu. Deleting the shareable menu stops its code working.
Customise & print
Every tile has two buttons. Quick download grabs a plain black-and-white PNG of the code. Customise & print opens the design panel with a live preview:
- Your logo — put your Branding logo in the centre of the code (add one in Branding first).
- Dot style — Classic, Rounded, Dots or Classy.
- Colour — your brand colour (or a preset) on the frame. The dots always stay dark on white so the code scans first time — and with a logo in the middle we raise the code's error correction automatically.
- Frame style — Classic card, Minimal, Tent fold or Sticker.
- Caption — editable, up to 60 characters ("Scan to book a table", "Join our loyalty scheme"…).
- Size — Table tent (A5 folded to A6), Sticker sheet (12 stickers per A4), Poster (A5), Poster (A4) or Plain square.
- Download — PNG for quick printing at home, SVG for a print shop (stays sharp at any size), or Print PDF at the real physical size: the table tent comes as an A5 sheet with a fold line, the sticker sheet as a full A4 grid, posters ready to print.
Changes only affect what you download — codes you've already printed keep working.
Which address do the codes use?
Every tile shows the exact address its code encodes. If your venue has its own domain live (the Your domain product), new downloads encode your domain automatically — a small Use your own domain switch flips back to the resoflow.co.uk form if you prefer. Either way, codes you printed earlier keep working: while your domain is live, old resoflow.co.uk codes forward customers straight to your own address, and if the domain ever lapses they simply carry on working as before.
The poster studio
The Design a poster button near the top of the hub opens the Poster studio — designed posters built around any of your codes, filled in automatically from your Branding logo, cover photo and brand colour. Everything renders on your own device: nothing is sent anywhere and there's nothing extra to pay.
It walks you through five short steps — Which code, The design, Print size, The words and Check & download — with a live preview of the poster under every question:
- Which code — the same entitlement rules as the hub's tiles: only codes your plan and products unlock are offered, and pick-an-item codes (an event, a shareable menu, a table) ask which one.
- The design — five layouts: Bold type (your headline huge on a full brand-colour background), Photo (your cover photo with the headline over it), Minimal (clean and quiet), Framed (a warm brand-colour border with your logo at the top) and Contrast (a dark panel over white with your colour as the accent). Missing assets never break a design — no cover photo means the Photo layout uses a colour panel, and no logo means the venue name takes the logo's place.
- Print size — A5, A4 or A3, and the PDF comes out at the real physical size, ready for any printer.
- The words — a headline and a supporting line, editable, with matching wording pre-filled from your code ("Book a table" · "Scan to book a table"). Leave either blank to keep the matching words; long words shrink to fit, so the design never breaks.
- Check & download — Download print-ready PDF (the poster at true size) or Download PNG (a 300 dpi image).
Leaving mid-way saves a draft (Exit — saved as draft) — reopening the studio picks up where you left off.
What about staff and screen codes?
They're deliberately not on this page. The staff-portal link QR lives in Staff management — it can be regenerated, which stops old printed copies working, so treat it like a key, not a poster. Display-screen links live in Displays, and one-off payment QRs appear when you create a payment request or sell a gift card.
