Tips added after the order
Customers can add a tip for 24 hours after a collection or delivery order arrives — no fees taken, ever, and refundable in-app if needed.
A customer who paid online for a collection or delivery order can add a tip after it arrives — a driver who was brilliant, a collection that was ready early. There's nothing to switch on: it comes with collection and delivery ordering.
How it works for the customer
Once the order is delivered or collected, the customer's order status page shows a Happy with everything? Add a tip card (their receipt email links to the same page). They pick an amount — presets or their own, between 30p and £200 — and pay it as a fresh card payment through your venue's own Stripe account. The window stays open for 24 hours after the order arrives, and each order can carry one added tip. Saved card details are never charged without the customer doing this themselves.
The money
- No fees are ever taken from tips — not ResoFlow's platform fee, nothing. The tip goes to the venue in full (Stripe's standard card-processing fee applies to the payment, as with any card payment).
- The tip shows as its own honest row on the order's detail and in Past orders, and joins your tips totals on Analytics → Orders.
- Tips never count towards the platform fee on the order — the fee is worked out on the order money excluding tips, always.
Refunding an added tip
If a tip needs to go back — added by mistake, or as a goodwill gesture — open the order's detail and use Refund the tip: the whole tip returns to the customer's card, in-app, behind the same manager PIN (or owner/admin password) as other refunds. You never need your Stripe dashboard.
