How do I bulk-delete data (tables, bookings, customers…)?

The Danger zone's seven permanent bulk wipes, their exact type-to-confirm phrases, and what each one deletes or keeps.

Settings → Danger zone holds seven bulk wipes for starting parts of your data afresh. Every one is permanent — there is no undo and no recycle bin — so each asks you to type an exact confirmation phrase AND confirm your password before it runs.

Only Owners and Admins can use the Danger zone, and most wipes also need the matching permission on your role (buttons you can't use are greyed out). Wipe marketing data is the exception — it's available to every Owner and Admin, with no extra permission needed.

The seven wipes

Button Type to confirm What it does Remove all tables DELETE TABLES Deletes every table and decoration on your floor plans. Bookings keep their records but lose their table assignment. Remove all menu items DELETE MENU Deletes every dish. Your menu sections stay unless you tick Also remove the now-empty menu sections on the confirmation — it's unticked by default, so sections are only ever removed when you ask. Remove all bookings DELETE BOOKINGS Deletes every booking, past and future. Customers are NOT notified. Bookings that carry a payment record — a deposit or pay-in-full payment, an event-ticket payment, paid extras or pre-orders, or a charged no-show fee, even one since refunded — are KEPT for the life of your account: the customer's personal details are cleared from them, but the payment record stays. The success message tells you how many were kept. Delete all customers DELETE CUSTOMERS Deletes your entire customer directory — profiles, contact details, notes and tags. Booking history is kept separately and not removed here. Delete all events DELETE EVENTS Deletes every event AND every ticket, with no notification or refund — cancel and refund paid events first (cancelling an event refunds and emails every ticket holder). Tickets that carry a payment record are KEPT for the life of your account: the customer's personal details are cleared from them, but the payment record stays — the success message tells you how many were kept. Clear all waitlist entries CLEAR WAITLIST Permanently removes the customers' personal details — names, contact details and notes — from every waitlist entry, including entries previously removed from the queue. Anonymised entries are kept for your waitlist statistics. Confirmed and seated bookings are unaffected; nobody is notified. Wipe marketing data WIPE MARKETING Deletes every marketing draft, saved template and broadcast send-record, plus marketing images uploaded before the shared image library existed. Images added through the image library aren't wiped — manage those from Settings → Image library.

If it stops part-way

Very large data sets can hit an hourly safety limit mid-wipe, leaving some records behind — you'll see a message explaining this. Wait a little while, then run the same wipe again to finish. The bookings wipe also tells you how many bookings were kept because they carry payment records.
