What can Promotions do?
The seven promotion types, how customers get them (codes or automatic conditions), where they can be used, and the live-promotion limit on each plan.
The Promotions page (in the sidebar under Grow) is where you create offers, promo codes and treats for your customers — money off event tickets, free-ticket giveaways, buy-one-get-one deals, or a treat with a table booking. Promotions need Pro or Complete; on lower plans the page shows "Promotions are available on Pro and Complete" with an upgrade prompt.
The seven promotion types
- Percentage off — money off event tickets or Order & Pay orders (collection, delivery or table), e.g. 20% off. Deposits and tips are never discounted.
- Amount off — a fixed amount off event tickets or Order & Pay orders (collection, delivery or table), e.g. £5 off an order.
- Free tickets — give event tickets away free, always with a maximum giveaway cap. Event ticket checkout only.
- Buy one, get one free — one discounted order, e.g. pick 4 tickets, pay for 2. Event ticket checkout only.
- Treat — something extra with a table booking or at the venue, e.g. a free dessert. Not for Order & Pay orders.
- Free item when you buy — buy a set number of one thing and the cheapest of another is free, e.g. any 2 mains gets the cheapest dessert free. Order & Pay orders only (collection, delivery or table); anyone can get it, no sign-in needed. You choose whether it's Once per order or Once for every multiple, up to a cap (four mains = two free desserts, up to the cap you set). The free item comes off at its real price, set menu & deal prices never count and are never the free item, and the customer's receipt names the dish that came off.
- Showcase — an announcement card with nothing to redeem, such as news or a seasonal menu. Switch on Show on your public pages and, while it's live, your booking and event pages carry it as a small banner in your brand colour too.
The type is fixed once a promotion exists — to change it, delete the promotion and create a new one.
How customers get an offer
Under How customers get it you choose: No code (pair it with an automatic trigger, or leave it as a staff-applied offer), Shared code (one code for posters and social media), or One-per-person codes (batches of codes, each working exactly once, for targeted emails). You can also add a condition under Conditions so the offer applies by itself — around the customer's birthday, on their first visit, on their first Order & Pay order (collection, delivery or table — you choose whether "first" means first on that channel, first order of any kind, or first visit of any kind), on certain days of the week, at off-peak times, or (for money discounts on Order & Pay orders) when the basket qualifies: set a minimum number of qualifying items and/or a minimum spend on them, and the discount appears live in the customer's basket the moment their order meets it — the shape for "buy two cocktails, get 20% off cocktails". On Order & Pay orders you can stack conditions with Add another condition — every one has to be met, so "20% off on Tuesdays when the order has two mains" is one promotion.
Where offers can be used
Each promotion has a Where it works setting: Ticket checkout, Table bookings, Order & Pay table orders, Collection orders, Delivery orders and/or At the venue. Money-off types work on event tickets and Order & Pay orders — table, collection and delivery (a promotion with neither collection nor delivery ticked stays at-table only) — table bookings take treats instead, because booking deposits are never discounted. On an order the discount applies to the dishes only, never the tip or the delivery fee (a delivery promotion can waive the fee outright with its Free delivery switch), and customers see it on the checkout and their receipt. Money-off Order & Pay promotions — on any order channel — can also carry a minimum spend and be scoped to categories or dishes — "only these" ("50% off cocktails only") or "everything except these" ("20% off but not alcohol") — with a required customer-facing label ("food", "cocktails") so the discount is always described honestly ("20% off food"); anything outside the scope is paid in full, and a scoped promotion never discounts set menu & deal prices (a deal is a bundle price, not an individual dish). Deleting a dish or section that a promotion's scope (or a loyalty reward's link) points at warns you first — "Delete anyway" proceeds, and the promotion then stops matching until its dishes are re-picked; replacing the whole menu via an import shows the same warning, listing every affected promotion and reward before anything is wiped. An UNSCOPED promo code the customer types CAN come off deal prices while the venue's Promo codes can be used on deal prices toggle (Orders → Settings, on by default) is on; automatic promotions never touch deal prices whatever the toggle says — see How do promotions, deals, rewards and gift cards work together?. Free tickets and buy-one-get-one are event-ticket-checkout only (set automatically). Order & Pay itself needs Complete and ordering switched on — see the Order & Pay guides.
The live-promotion limit
Pro includes up to 3 live promotions at a time; Complete is unlimited. The badge in the page header shows where you stand (for example "1 of 3 live"). Paused promotions don't count towards the limit, and Showcase cards never occupy a slot. At the limit, a banner suggests pausing one to free a slot or upgrading to Complete.
Keeping track
The page has two tabs: Live & paused and History — a full trail where every code or treat shows as Applied, Used, Released, Returned, Voided or Redeemed. You can narrow the History trail by promotion, by status (with a one-tap Used only pill) and with a Last 7 days pill. On Live & paused, each promotion card carries a status pill — Scheduled (the pill also says when it starts, "Starts 12 Sep 2026"), Live, Paused, Ended or Cap reached (its total-use cap is used up) — plus an amber "Ends in N days" chip in its final week, and its own numbers: claimable offers show "N saved · M used", money-off offers show the total given away (for example "£24.50 given away") and a recent-usage line (for example "Last 7 days: 2 used (£10.00)"). Card actions are Edit, Duplicate (opens the builder pre-filled; the copy starts paused with any code blanked), Codes, History and Delete — deleting a claimable offer first tells you how many customers have saved its offer and steers you towards pausing instead. Above the cards sit a name search, status filter pills (All / Live / Scheduled / Paused / Cap reached / Ended — the Scheduled pill carries a count, and with All selected your scheduled offers sit in their own Scheduled group at the top, so a queued code is never invisible) and a Pause all live action with a confirm. There's also a Promotions tab in Analytics with a range summary ("This range: N used · £X honoured") plus redemptions per day, the discount you've given away and your top codes. Customers only ever see codes that are live right now — a scheduled or capped code isn't advertised on the booking page, the venue page or the customer account until it goes live.
How the £ figures are counted. Fixed-amount offers count their face value whenever they're used — online at ticket checkout or scanned at the venue — and online ticket discounts of any type record the exact money knocked off the order. Percentage and buy-one-get-one offers used at the venue show as a count only, with no £ value: ResoFlow never sees the bill at the venue, so it can't know what the discount was worth.
