How do I customise the dashboard display and quick actions?
Set the staff clock format, timeline status colours, click shortcuts and booking-history colours.
You customise how the dashboard looks and behaves in Settings → Venue → Display & layout. Only Owners and Admins see this page. (Looking for light/dark mode? That's personal, not venue-wide — it lives in Account → Personal details.)
Staff dashboard clock
In the Time format for staff dashboard card, set Staff dashboard clock to 12 hour or 24 hour (default 12 hour). This controls times across all staff dashboard pages. The clock customers see on public pages is set separately in Settings → Branding.
Looking for the wall-mounted screens? They moved to their own page — every wall-screen option now lives in Settings → Venue → Displays, and a note on this page points you there. See How do I set up wall screens with Displays?.
Timeline & floor plan visuals
In the Timeline & floor plan visuals card:
- Show completed bookings on timeline (on by default) keeps cleared bookings visible as faded blocks so staff can see where tables were previously occupied.
- Auto-trim duration on clear (on by default; needs the toggle above on) shortens a booking to the actual seated time when the table is cleared, freeing the timeline space instantly.
- Below those, set a colour, border style (Solid / Dashed / Dotted) and fill (Heavy / Light) for each status: Upcoming booking, Seated, Table ready (pending), 15+ mins late, Arrived (waiting to be seated) and Table cleared. Four extra waitlist rows appear when Smart services is on. Pick from the palette or enter your own hex colour; Default restores a row.
Quick actions (mouse shortcuts)
In the Quick actions card, set what happens when staff double-click or triple-click a booking bar on the timeline. The section is plan-gated: Available on Complete plan.
Each of the nine bar types (Upcoming bookings, Seated bookings, Table ready, Late bookings, Arrived (waiting to be seated), and four Waitlist states) has a Double click and Triple click dropdown. Only actions that make sense for that state are offered — for example Mark as seated, Mark as cleared, Extend by 15 mins, Mark as no-show, Cancel booking or View / edit booking. Everything defaults to No action.
Shortcuts work with a mouse only — on touch devices (iPads and phones) a single tap always opens the booking. The waitlist rows also need Smart services switched on.
Booking history colours
In the Booking history colours card, click a swatch to change the accent colour for each of the ten actions shown in a booking's history timeline (Created, Walk-in, Updated, Seated, Arrived, Cleared, Deleted, Settings, Staff added, Staff removed). Reset to default appears once you've changed one.
Click Save changes when you're done. An invalid hex colour is dropped with a warning; everything else still saves.
