Can customers be told if a table frees up on a fully booked date? (Notify me)

With Notify me if a table frees up on, customers can join a list on a fully booked date and hear once, in the order they asked, when a table comes free.

Yes. Switch on Notify me if a table frees up on Settings → Bookings → How people book, in When a date is fully booked (off to begin with). It's Available on Complete, like the waitlist.

Which wins: "On a full date, today shows your waitlist and later dates show the Notify me list — each only when it's switched on."

What customers see

Under a fully booked date after today, your booking page asks "Want to hear if a table frees up on …?" with a Notify me if a table frees up button. The customer picks the times they'd like (From and Until) for the party size they chose, and leaves their name and an email address — or a mobile number instead, if you've switched on Let customers choose a text instead of an email and text messages are set up for your venue. They then see "You're on the list", with Remove me from the list in case their plans change.

When a table frees up

When a booking on that date is cancelled — or a no-show your team marks frees its table — everyone on the list it suits is told once, in the order they asked, by email or text, with a link to book. There's no hold: the first to book gets the table. A booking marked a no-show automatically doesn't tell the list, because it still holds its table.

Asking again for the same date updates the customer's request and keeps their place. Once they've been told, they're off the list — they can join it again for one more message. Booking that date on your booking page — through the link or not — takes them off the list too. Opening a link in the message never removes anyone on its own; the page asks first.

Each text uses one of your text credits.

Privacy

A request holds the customer's name, their email address or mobile number, the date, the times and their party size. It's deleted the day after the date, or sooner if they book or take themselves off the list — your Privacy Policy says so. Requests are included when you export your venue's data, and a customer's requests are deleted if they ask for their data to be erased.
