How do I import my floor plan from a picture?

Photograph your floor plan — or upload a drawing, printout or screenshot of it — and ResoFlow reads the tables into a new floor plan for you to check and save. 4 AI credits a picture.

Drawing forty tables by hand is a slow way to start, so you don't have to. Open the Floor plan Builder (Settings → Venue → Tables and layout, then Open editor) and click Import from a picture, next to Manage floor plans. Photograph your floor plan, or upload a picture of it — a hand drawing, a printed plan, or a screenshot from another system all work — and ResoFlow reads the tables into a new floor plan for you to check before anything is saved.

What it reads

For every table on the picture: its number, its seat count, its shape (round or not) and where it sits. Walls, doors, bars, toilets, trees and area labels are ignored — the import brings in tables only; add decorations in the editor afterwards. If the picture names the room ("Beer garden", "Main bar"), the new plan is named after it with today's date — otherwise it's called "Imported plan" with the date. You can rename it in Manage floor plans.

A few rules worth knowing:

• One picture is one room. Each picture becomes one floor plan, so photograph each room or area separately. Your plan's floor-plan limit applies (1 on Free, 2 on Plus, 5 on Pro, unlimited on Complete) and so does its table limit.
• Tables are numbered, never named. A number printed on the picture becomes that table's number ("Table 12"); tables with no number fill the gaps in reading order — left to right, top to bottom. Words printed beside a table (Booth, Bench, Walk in) are ignored. Gaps in your numbering are fine — nothing invents a Table 15 you don't have.
• Seats come from a printed count first ("(6)" on the table), then from chairs drawn around it, and only then from the table's size. The check screen tells you which.
• Two tables with the same number — a real case — are both kept and flagged, so you can rename one before you save. A number that already exists on another floor plan is flagged the same way.

Checking it

The read lands on the real editor canvas in a new, unsaved plan, with an amber Check badge on any table worth a second look (hover it for the reason). Drag, resize, rename or delete anything that's wrong, exactly as you would with tables you drew yourself, then press Save changes — that's the moment the new plan is created. Until then nothing has been saved, and Discard this import throws the read away. Your existing floor plans are never touched: when you're happy, make the new plan the active one and delete the old one yourself.

If you close the screen part-way

Nothing is lost. A picture that has been read but not yet saved stays available for seven days: the next time you open Import from a picture, you'll be offered Carry on where you left off (with when it was read and how many tables), or Start a new import. Carrying on takes you straight to checking the tables and costs nothing more — the credits were spent when the picture was read. Saving the tables, or choosing to start a new import, closes that read for good.

If saving is interrupted

Retry the same reviewed import. ResoFlow keeps its save reference so a repeated click or an interrupted response does not create a second floor plan or add the tables twice. Once a plan has been created for that import, make further changes in the editor rather than changing the original import and saving it again.

If the plan was created but its tables could not be saved, the result names that plan and explains the failed tables. Open it in the editor to review what is there. An older import without a reliable save record, a discarded import or a plan that has since been removed needs review; retrying will not silently recreate it. A missing import reference means you need to reopen the original import.

What it costs

Each picture uses 4 AI credits, taken when you press Read the picture; if the read fails, they go straight back. Pro includes 30 AI credits a month and Complete 100; Free and Plus include none, so on those plans you buy a one-off pack from Account → Top-ups and credits (50 credits for £5, 150 for £12, 400 for £25 — packs never expire). Getting a good read

Take the photo straight on with the whole plan in shot, in good light, and make sure the numbers are legible. A screenshot of your current system's floor plan reads very well. The picture is read by an AI model and then deleted straight away — we don't keep it, and it's never used to train anything. Photos are also stripped of their location data before they leave your phone. Needs the floor-plan edit permission (Managers and above by default).
